Corporate & Promotional Programme Production

Assignment Title: Branding the Brand
Unit 28: The Unit aims to provide learners with 
the understanding, knowledge and skills           required to plan and produce corporate and   promotional programmes.                                   
Scenario:   As part of an ever growing workforce, Idlewildjuno Production House would like to expand their clientele by exploring various possibilities in producing a range of Corporate and Promotional Programmes.  An opportunity has arisen that will allow you to showcase both research skills and technical abilities to communicate and promote an up and coming corporation.

T2: 1st March
T3: 20th March (rough cut)
Final Deadline: T3 - Final 31st March

You will research the specific codes and conventions of Corporate and promotional programming using a variety of written and filmic sources and extracting information in note and summary form before drafting, reviewing and presenting a report aimed at informing a young BTEC audience. You will then plan a corporate promotional programme of your choice identifying and researching specific programme requirements and resources that you will need to pitch your idea for approval.  Finally you will produce your own promotional video and present it to the company for review for exhibiting.

Task 1:

Understanding Codes and Conventions and current practice of Promotional Programming: In class we will discuss various practices, codes and conventions of corporate programming. You will then continue with your notes and find written sources (books, websites, and articles) about codes and conventions and current practice that face corporate programming. You must read and extract key information, and develop notes to show your understanding. These notes will contribute to a report that you have been commissioned to create aimed at informing young people about corporate and promotional production.

Planning for Production:  In response to the given brief you are to produce a comprehensive allocation of pre-production materials that identify the target audience, determines the content and style for the desired programme.  You will also identify appropriate techniques to use in the production process along with a solid script as well as necessary planning documentation for your ideas.  You are to Pitch your idea to an audience for approval.

Task 3:

Production of Corporate Promo Video: You will create your own individual corporate programme as planned from task 2.  You must show evidence of time management, booking sources, and appropriation of necessary equipment, found footage is acceptable to a minimum in order to aid your ideas. Once you have completed your video, you are to show your finished work to a client and a sample audience to identify any necessary changes.  You must individually maintain a production log throughout your production process.
